About Me

About the artist:

Kristi Lynn Visser’s passion and calling as an artist is very simple: to make beautiful things. Kristi considers it a great privilege to use her God given gifts to create beautiful art to send out into the world, brightening lives and spreading hope and cheer. Believing that every day is a gift, Kristi’s art expresses her joy and gratefulness for the simple blessings of daily life. This joy is expressed most often through her charming florals and captivating faces. Kristi has been creating all her life and is gifted in a variety of media.  She works mainly in acrylic, watercolor, and mixed media, often with a touch of vintage flair. You’ll find her work is celebratory, feminine, playful, textural, fresh, and full of life. She paints a story of the hope and happiness that she has found in a life lived with faith and love.

Kristi is a wanna be farm girl living in small town Michigan with her favorite guy, their four fabulous kids, their not so fabulous puggle, and his nemesis, the cat. Kristi grew up in a creative home. Her father, a talented carpenter, and her mother, a teacher and gifted homemaker, encouraged all five children to develop and use their God given gifts. After the tragic death of both her parents, Kristi attended Calvin College where she received her Bachelor of Fine Art. She dabbled in freelance work after graduation and started a small business designing and selling painted furniture. While happily married and homeschooling her four children in lovely West Michigan, she continued to paint and draw commissioned portraits and book illustrations. In the past two years, Kristi has committed her days to pursing a career as a full time artist. She makes time every day to play in her home studio, practicing the art she loves to create. She also teaches art classes to all ages in a local gallery and in her home studio.

Kristi enjoys creating and selling art, with many paintings sold and displayed in homes, businesses, and galleries. Kristi has also participated in several juried shows and gallery exhibits. But her favorite venue for sharing work and connecting with other artists and art lovers is social media where she has found a growing following of fans and support. Though her art career is only just beginning, she truly believes her work will find it’s way to places she never could have imagined, lifting spirits and touching hearts for the good of the world and the glory of God.
